Join us for the 2022 College Conference on Cooperatives keynote address, “Cooperatives: Serving Underserved Communities,” featuring Christina Jennings, Executive Director of Shared Capital Cooperative, Brittany Jablonsky, Vice President of Public Policy & Stakeholder Relations at the Farm Credit Council, and Terence Courtney, Director of Cooperative Development & Strategic Initiatives at the Federation of Southern Cooperatives. William Nelson, Board Chair of Ralph K. Morris Foundation, will provide introductory remarks.
Shared Capital Cooperative is a national loan fund and Community Development Financial Institution. Based in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota, Shared Capital is cooperatively owned and governed by more than 250 cooperatives that borrow from and invest in the fund. In her role as Executive Director, Christina Jennings provides strategic leadership, oversees lending, and leads capitalization efforts.
The Farm Credit Council is the national trade association representing the Farm Credit system. As Vice President of Public Policy & Stakeholder Relations, Brittany Jablonsky spearheads the Council’s internal policy communications, helping ensure Farm Credit leaders are the first to know about issues that could affect Farm Credit, its customer-owners and the agriculture industry, and the organization’s relationship-building efforts with a range of stakeholders.
The Federation of Southern Cooperatives is a non-profit cooperative association of black farmers, landowners, and cooperatives with field offices serving a membership base in the Southern states. Terence Courtney coordinates with State Directors in the Federation on Regional Cooperative Development Strategy. At the grassroots level, he supports development in states where the Federation does not have regular staff. Internationally, he led the Federation’s effort to create multilateral partnerships based in cooperative economics.
