International Journal of Co-operative Accounting and Management

We want to highlight this journal as a great bridge publication from academic to co-operative practice. The topics the journal covers are varied and the publications are free and open. Do peruse their website to see many articles that may be of use to both improve co-operative practice, as well as teach and learn about co-operatives. View more here.

The International Journal of Co-operative Accounting and Management was created January 1, 2018 as a result of the merger of the Journal of Co-operative Accounting and Reporting (JCAR) and the International Journal of Cooperative Management (IJCM).

Building on the value of both journals by leveraging co-operative principles, the International Journal of Co-operative Accounting and Management combined JCAR’s mission of promoting the study of accountancy and reporting for co-operatives, credit unions, and mutual organizations, with IJCM’s mission of developing and professionalizing best management practices in the co-operative movement, to provide a more robust intellectual platform for international scholars of co-operatives and the social economy.

Through the Centre of Excellence in Accounting and Reporting for Co-operatives (CEARC) at the Sobey School of Business, Saint Mary’s University in Canada, the journal explores a diverse range of topics related to accounting and management in co-operatives, credit unions, and mutual organizations, including:
